2K Games creates games with enthralling environments that
hook players from the opening. It was true of Bioshock. It was true of Bioshock
Infinte. So of course it is true of the return to Rapture, Bioshock’s
underwater utopia, in Infinite’s first story-driven DLC, Burial at Sea. Hit the
jump for more!
The greatest pull for this DLC is the chance to see pre-fall
Rapture. When you stumble upon Rapture in Bioshock, you only get to see the
ruins of the once great city. Seeing the city alive and full of energy is a
splendid treat.
The best part of pre-fall Rapture is getting to see how
people and plasmids functioned before the fall. Houdini splicers, those damn
teleporting freaks from the original, were actually servers, which makes perfect
sense. Seeing them teleport around a bar serving drinks and lighting cigarettes
offers a whole new functionality to their character. The same goes for Big
Daddies and Little Sisters.
Burial at Sea combines elements from Bioshock and Infinite.
The mystery being setup within the opening of the game promises to tie both
games together in an intriguing noir package.
For this post I did something a little different. I recently acquired some video game capture hardware, so I wanted to test it out. Below is a video of me playing the first 20 minutes of Burial at Sea, the new downloadable content for Bioshock Infinite.
Nice post. I watched some of the video, but it was very slow on my home internet.
